Shortage occupation list: the Coalition Government has
accepted the recommendations of the Migration Advisory Committee to reduce
the number of jobs on the shortage occupation list. Employers may only recruit
a worker under Tier 2 of the points-based immigration scheme if that job is
on the shortage occupation list or if they meet a resident labour market test.
